Stitching

I think I am 23 going on 80. Why is that? Because I recently I took up needlepoint. However, I am going to defend needlepoint and argue that it is making a comeback as a hip trend for the younger set (under 80 that is).

In case I ever get lost, thank goodness for my S&B key fob.

Thanks to Susan and Grace at The Point Of It All for getting me started!

The proof is in the stitches, my friends.

Night Light

There is an EXTRAORDINARILY bright light immediately outside my bedroom window.

Its life purpose is to increase visibility and safety (fair), but, it dutifully flickers on at 7:00pm and fades out at 6:00am.

Basically, it overlaps with almost all of the hours I would like to be asleep.

Logically, I've invested in black out shades a sleep mask.

Inspiration:

The daring, darling Holly Golightly
Harry Potter Specs
Brookstone NapForm

Sleep tight!

14 days, 7 hours, and 5 minutes till Opening Ceremony but, who's counting, right?

I'm pretty excited. Red, white chocolate, and blue sprinkle strawberrys for everyone.

Polo Ralph Lauren won the USA Olympic outfitter contract back in 2008 and will be dressing the United States athletes (at the opening and closing ceremony and in their free time at the Olympic Village) again this year.

The rest of us mortals can purchase the gear onlineThe lot is so classic and patriotic I'd scoop it all up if it weren't for the pricetag.

(drumroll)

I'm pleased to introduce Mr. Gunner Brabeck.

Gunsy is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (his ancestors were lion hunters),
is currently living in Chicago, loves long walks on the beach,
and CANNOT wait to visit DC to hang with Bo/me.

I picked up a few treats at Metro Mutts on Barracks Row to welcome my nephew
to his new home, my favorite purchase (by far) was the Humungastache.
